Masters Cognitive Science and Education

The Master's Degree in Cognitive Science and Education, offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences, Education, and Administration and the School of Psychology and Life Sciences, is an interdisciplinary program that is structured around the interaction between knowledge derived from Cognitive Science and Education, with a focus on the cognitive mechanisms that support learning in educational contexts. The program aims to address the challenging current educational context, which demands new knowledge and competencies from teachers, researchers, managers, and policymakers to facilitate the evolution of the educational system and society. These competencies include the ability to engage in reflection, research, and action based on complex thinking and to transcend disciplinary barriers.

To be admitted to this study program, candidates must hold a bachelor's or master's degree, or its legal equivalent, preferably in the fields of Education Sciences, Teaching, Social Sciences, or Behavioral Sciences. Psychology candidates are required to have a master's degree in Psychology. This study program does not confer professional qualification in the fields of Psychology or Teaching.

Presential classes in Blended-learning (a mixed system of presential classes, recurring to both presential and online classes). In the 1st year (the curricular year), the Course is divided into presential and online classes, with asynchronous support. The presential classes will be lectured after working hours, preferably on Saturdays and in some cases can occur in January and in July 2023.
