Criminal Policy Conference
Event deepens the integration of Criminal Policy with Criminal Law in the Criminological Approach.
07.02.24 - 15h30On February 7th, the José Araújo Auditorium hosted an event of special relevance in the area of Social and Human Sciences, Criminal Policy. We had the pleasure of welcoming João Silva Miguel, a retired member of the Supreme Court of Justice and former Director of the Center for Judicial Studies, as a speaker, in which he was able to share his vast experience and knowledge acquired throughout his career, followed by an enriching debate.
Criminology includes, among its dimensions, criminal policy, which has a huge impact in the context of penalization, taking the form of joint work with Criminal Law, contributing to the formulation of more effective and fair public policies and judicial practices.
The conference provided not only an opportunity to disseminate specialized knowledge, but also to promote dialogue and interaction in the academic environment between professionals and students interested in this area. In this way, the event reinforced Lusófona University's commitment to promoting academic debate, to sharing knowledge with experienced professionals and to contributing to the advancement of the Social Sciences and Humanities as a whole.
