Portugal, recognised for its high life expectancy, faces significant challenges related to the quality of life in later years. In this context, the III Psychogerontology Meeting brought together experts in gerontology, psychology, representatives of local authorities, and businesses to discuss innovative solutions that can be implemented through collaboration between educational institutions, social organisations, and municipalities.

The event's programme began with a debate panel, where fundamental issues regarding active ageing and the inclusion of effective public policies were addressed. Following this, participants were divided into small groups for the World Café dynamic, an interactive methodology that encourages the exchange of ideas in an informal and collaborative environment. During the activity, participants discussed specific themes, shared perspectives, and co-created practical and innovative solutions to enhance the quality of life for the elderly.

The event reaffirmed the importance of a multidisciplinary and cross-sector approach to promote more active and healthy ageing, highlighting the essential role of society in building a more inclusive future for the elderly population.
