Diogo Ferreira

I'm Diogo Ferreira, I'm in my 3rd year of Management Informatics and I've been working at Lusófona University's Innovation Office for the last year or so.

I chose Universidade Lusófona because I live very close by, so it was very easy for me to come here, and then I was very positively surprised by the opportunities I was able to have both inside and outside the University.

I think those were the years when I was able to grow the most professionally, even as a person. Within the University I had experiences that I think: I never thought I'd have, at such a young age, I've already worked abroad, for example, which was something that was a dream of mine.

I went to Brussels, more specifically, I went because of a European Union project that I'm part of, that my scholarship is part of, and I was there for a few days, three or four, talking about this topic and I think it was an incredible experience.

Throughout the year, there are various competitions, various opportunities, so only those who don't have the willpower don't get far at Lusófona, because there are plenty of opportunities.

It's an Initiation Grant for Scientific Research, so I have various benefits such as cancellation of tuition fees, in other words, I don't pay any tuition fees and I also receive an incentive on the side. It's called CYANOTYPES, it's a project that, well, let's put it this way, it's a bit complex to explain in a few words, but it's a skills Tinder and I'm responsible for the platform and all the technological infrastructure, I'm going to do it myself, with my colleague who's going to develop it.

My plans for the future are to continue at Lusófona, at least one of the paths I have in mind is to continue at Lusófona in a Postgraduate Programme in Artificial Intelligence, which is kind of new, and to continue working with Paulo, Paulo Ferreira, who is my boss in the Innovation Office. So, to continue to have the benefits of not paying tuition fees and so on... and to continue to advance in my studies, and my professional performance as well.

It's one of the most incredible things that could have happened to me, joining this course and turning my hobby into my career.
