Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering

Hello, my name is Moisés da Silva, and I’m in my first year of Computer Engineering at Universidade Lusófona. I clearly remember my first day of classes — I was a little nervous because everything was new to me. The environment, the classmates, the lecturers, even the teaching model itself was different from what I was used to.

Right at the entrance, there was a map to help students, especially those who, like me, were there for the first time. I must admit it was actually a bit funny — it felt like I was on a treasure hunt to find the right classroom for my very first lesson. Luckily, I had plenty of support; the PUI was a key part of my integration, as I often had trouble using the university app and they guided me through it.

Not to mention the course office, which was also essential for matters such as timetable changes and questions about modules. And of course, SIGA helped me with all the administrative aspects. Another very positive element was the welcome activities.

I took part in some sessions prepared for new students, and in them we received important information about how everything worked at the university — this whole new universe for me. It was there that I learned about essential study tools such as Moodle, where we access course materials and submit assignments, and also NetPA, which is super practical because it allows us to handle almost all academic matters without having to go to the university in person.

In short, it was something new and, of course, it made me nervous — but it was a great experience. A unique experience that I had the opportunity to live at Universidade Lusófona.
