The Master degree in Criminal Sciences is designed to provide advanced, interdisciplinary training for graduates in Law, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology and Police Sciences. With a solid structure and a dynamic, contemporary and comprehensive approach, this master's program stands out for its highly qualified teaching staff, a pedagogical approach that values critical thinking and research, and a strong practical component that includes the possibility of an internship. The curriculum of the Master's in Criminal Sciences is designed to meet the needs of both the legal field and the criminal and behavioral sciences. In the area of law, the program prioritizes knowledge of criminal law and criminal procedure, ensuring that students have general knowledge in these fields. Furthermore, recognizing the importance of the punitive part of the legal system, especially in times of turmoil and unrest, the program includes the study of these aspects for a more comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice system. On the other hand, by including curricular units that deal with scientific and forensic aspects, such as Forensic Biology and Genetics and Medico-Legal Sciences, students are provided with the development of essential knowledge for understanding physical and biological evidence, demonstrating the intersection between natural sciences and criminal sciences. Within the behavioral sciences, the program includes curricular units such as Criminal Investigation Techniques and Intervention Programs, allowing students to develop a deeper understanding of the contexts and motivations related to crime, as well as explore evidence-based prevention and intervention strategies. In addition to the compulsory subjects, the syllabus includes a diverse range of options each semester that allow students to explore specific areas of interest, adapting their training to their academic and professional aspirations.
