What will I learn in this course?
The Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and Sport has a duration of three academic years (six semesters) and is structured to allow students, from the first year, to direct their initial training towards the fields of Physical Education and School Sport, Sports Training, and Exercise and Health. This study cycle aims to provide a foundational education of a scientific, pedagogical and didactic nature, enabling students to apply the knowledge of their specialty in professional practice.

Completion of this bachelor's degree confers the following qualifications and access rights: i) Professional Title of Physical Exercise Technician: Provides the required academic qualification for obtaining the Professional Title of Physical Exercise Technician, issued by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), which is a legal requirement for professional practice in gyms, academies or health clubs, under the terms of Law No. 39/2012 of 28 August. ii) Professional Title of Sports Coach (TPTD): Recognized by the IPDJ as equivalent to General Training (Levels I and II). Additionally, for students from Universidade Lusófona - Centro Universitário do Porto, the following specific training is recognized: -Football: Full recognition of Level I (UEFA C) and partial recognition of Level II (UEFA B), upon completion of the curricular units in Football Sports Training. -Swimming: Full recognition of Level I, upon completion of the Internship curricular unit in Swimming. iii) Access to 2nd Cycle (Master's) in Teaching: Enables access to the Master's in Teaching Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education, which qualifies for roles in Curricular Enrichment Activities - AEC (Order No. 12,591/2006) and for professional teaching certification in Physical Education (Decree-Law No. 79/2014). iv) Continuity of Specialized Studies: Provides access to various 2nd Cycle (Master's) programs in different specialization areas within the field of Sport.

Students will be able to proceed to 2nd cycle studies | Master's degree in a specialization area of your preference in the field of Sport, with the 2nd Cycle available at Universidade Lusófona do Porto | Master in Exercise and Health and Sports Training in Football.

Universidade Lusófona do Porto offers a variety of resources to support learning, from physical resources (classrooms with multimedia equipment, library, ICT resources, pedagogical and scientific equipment, support rooms for tutorial guidance and technological work center). With regard to specific facilities for the teaching of Curricular Units of a practical nature, such as Football Field, Multidisciplinary and Monodisciplinary Pavilions, Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts, etc.) are guaranteed through protocols with the Municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto City Hall and Sports Clubs of reference.
